Solrun Hoaas

Works on paper

Solrun Hoaas is a filmmaker now seeking the still frame through solar plate prints and etchings.

Between 1980 and 2001, Solrun Hoaas produced, wrote and directed several award-winning films, including Sacred Vandals and Waiting for Water from Hatoma Island in Okinawa, Effacement, a poetic homage to a Noh mask maker, At Edge with poet Judith Wright, Green Tea and Cherry Ripe,  Pyongyang Diaries, and the feature film Aya.

In this her first solo print exhibition in Sydney, Solrun Hoaas draws on images from her early films and photographs, as well as her theatre experience, in limited editions of copperplate etchings and solar plate prints, sometimes combined.
